How Often to Use LED Devices: Safe and Effective Routines
Most LED devices are designed for regular, moderate sessions. Consistency is the main driver of results, not longer exposure.
A simple baseline is 3 sessions per week with the manufacturer recommended time, often 10 to 20 minutes. If your skin tolerates it well, increase to 4 or 5 sessions.
Example ramp up:
- Week 1 to 2: 3 sessions per week.
- Week 3 to 4: 4 sessions per week if comfortable.
- Week 5 and beyond: maintain a steady cadence.
Sample routines:
- Acne: 4 to 5 sessions weekly with blue or blue plus red.
- Anti aging: 3 to 4 sessions weekly with red or red plus near infrared.
- Recovery: 3 to 5 sessions weekly with near infrared.
- Hair support: about 3 sessions weekly with helmet devices.
If you notice lasting redness or dryness, reduce time or frequency. A rest day can help your skin recover.
Track results monthly with the same lighting and angle to see gradual changes.
